Extended monitoring

The Extended Monitoring typically consists of following monitoring solutions:

  • MP Load Monitoring: this solution, based on optical strain sensors, allows to continuously measure the stresses and bending moments at critical joint locations on the monopile structure (up to the mudline or even below the mudline)

  • Grout Monitoring: this solution, based on displacement sensors, allows to continuously measure the relative axial displacement and the relative angle between the monopile and the transition piece for settlement assessment of the grouted connection.

  • Corrosion Protection Monitoring: this solution, based on reference electrodes, allows to continuously evaluate the good functioning of cathodic protection monitoring system

  • Corrosion Rate Monitoring: this solution, based on ER probes, allows to continuously measure the corrosion rate near the sensor (with or without cathodic protection)

  • Wave Monitoring: this solution, based on a wave radar sensor allows to continuously measure the wave parameters within the windfarm.

  • Other environmental monitoring: Environmental monitoring could comprise the use of water level sensors, pH sensors, Oxygen sensors.
